C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital – University of Michigan

No-wax flooring improves maintenance efficiency

C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital on the University of Michigan Health System campus is a 1.1 million-square-foot facility nationally recognized for its excellence in clinical services, research and education. Each floor of the new building features a custom design that greets visitors the moment they exit the elevator, thanks to eye-catching patterns created with noraplan environcare.

During the early planning stages, the hospital considered several rubber flooring options, with long-term maintenance requirements, durability, LEED® contributions and range of color options all part of the discussion. Because the environmental services department wanted a no-wax solution for their new facility, the hospital tested nora flooring in their old building. more
Ultimately, they chose noraplan environcare for lobbies, corridors and exam rooms in their new facility because of the demonstrated durability and performance over the life of the test. The maintenance team at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is using the chemical-free nora pro clean system, which offers scheduling flexibility, since they no longer need to take the time or undergo the expense of waxing floors.
