Expanded nora by Interface Rubber Stairtread Solution Features Modern norament 926 arago Design

Weinheim, April 2021 – Interface®, a worldwide commercial flooring company and global leader in sustainability, is expanding its nora® by Interface portfolio of stairtreads with the norament® 926 arago design, featuring modern, irregular marbling for a unique aesthetic.

The integrated one-piece norament® stairtreads combine stair nosing, tread and riser as a single element. They are suitable for a range of environments, from public buildings and industrial applications to education, social-housing, and healthcare. Optionally, the stairs can be equipped with additional signal or safety strips.

Expanded design possibilities

The new norament® 926 arago stairtreads add a modern design component to current stairtread designs. “With this new design, we now have more options to support our customers who are looking for modern design elements in their spaces – across all segments – while delivering the functionality and durability of our stairtreads,” said Dirk Oswald, Head of Product & Brand Management nora product lines. Each norament® 926 arago stairtread is unique featuring a flat, directional relief structure with modern, irregular marbling. The colour palette consists of six different shades of grey, skillfully supporting the modern look.

Signal and safety stripes

norament® 926 arago stairtreads can be equipped with signal or safety strips in various widths, colours and slip classes both on the tread surface and in the nose area. The contrasting signal stripes help to improve the visibility of the stairtreads – from the entry step to the exit step – and make the beginning or end of the step clearly visible. Both the staircases and the safety stripes offer particularly high slip resistance, helping to reduce the risk of accidents. The signal and safety stripes are available in widths of two, three, four or five centimetres as standard, or as luminescent signal stripes in two centimetres. Matching skirtings and stair angles complement norament® 926 arago stairtreads and ensure an all-round successful appearance.

Proven nora values

The dense surface of the stair coverings makes them extremely durable and easy to maintain, keeping their appearance after many years of use, even in high-traffic areas. Furthermore, the new stairtread with the relief-surface ensures a high slip resistance, achieving an R10-classification (acc. DIN 51130). nora rubber floorings can also significantly improve acoustics, featuring impact sound improvement up to 20 dB. Due to their permanent elasticity, there is less impact sound than with hard floors. This minimises disturbing noises (for example, the clattering of heels or the rolling of trolleys) and noticeably improves room acoustics. “The new stairtreads are a perfect addition to our existing staircase portfolio. Customers choose them on a functional level and because they provide a modern look in design-oriented areas,” concluded Oswald.

norament® 926 arago stairtreads, like every flooring product Interface sells – carpet, LVT, and rubber sheets and tiles – are certified carbon neutral through the Carbon Neutral Floors™ program, at no extra cost to customers. The Weinheim rubber plant is continuously working to avoid or reduce CO₂ emissions and thus further reduce its own CO₂ footprint. The unavoidable CO₂ emissions are compensated through the acquisition of emission reduction certificates, with which climate protection projects are financed.
