Renovation of Noorderpoort, location Muntinglaan:

Demolition was not an option for the school building on Muntinglaan. Many Groningen residents went to school there. The building is therefore part of Groningen’s collective memory. The starting point for the design was that the school’s character should be reflected externally with a representative, modern and above all, technological look.

The revitalization of the school building on Muntinglaan was completed in 2015. Noorderpoort Technology & ICT and the Facilities department started the school year in their new housing location. Within the school walls, almost 800 students are busy pursuing courses in the Middle Management Engineering (MKE), Metal Processing, Process Technology and ICT sectors.

BREEAM certified:

The project had high sustainability ambitions. Indeed, Noorderpoort demands that all of their buildings score as highly as possible in accordance with BREEAM methodology per project.
