Bound by art, the Norwich Free Academy used nora to accent the Slater Memorial Building The Norwich Free Academy (NFA) is a semi-private high school that serves Norwich, CT, and seven surrounding towns. Steeped in rich tradition, NFA recently built a new atrium that serves as a connection and common space for four contiguous areas, which include the Converse Art Gallery, Norton Gym, Alumni Gym, and most notably, the Slater Memorial Museum – which dates back to 1878.
Knowing they needed durable flooring to withstand heavy foot traffic throughout the Slater Memorial Building atrium, the Norwich Free Academy tested nora flooring in the building’s basement. The school also considered polished concrete for its look, but had concerns about the material’s maintenance requirements and long-term performance.
