Bacteriostatic and fungistatic properties of nora® floorings confirmed
Hygiene with no ifs or buts
The latest test report from ofi Technologie & Innovation GmbH in Austria confirms the bacteriostatic and fungistatic effect of nora® rubber floorings. This certificate underlines the capabilities of Freudenberg Bausysteme KG in terms of hygiene and disinfection of its nora® rubber flooring range.
nora® floorcoverings have been used for many years in health care facilities all over the world. Freudenberg Bausysteme' customers include university clinics, hospitals, old people's homes and nursing homes. The dependable standards of hygiene assured by these rubber floorings are revalidated here on a daily basis.
The exceptionally dense surface of nora® floorings enables them to be simply cleaned even without a coating. Blood, urine and the wound disinfectant Betaisadona with its iodine content can also be removed without any problems, as test certificates confirm. The Research and Materials Testing Institute of Baden-Württemberg/Germany has confirmed the resistance of nora® floorings to commonly used surface disinfectants.
An expertise from the Hygiene Institute of Heidelberg University/Germany, moreover, confirms that the rubber floorings from Freudenberg are completely disinfectable - irrespective of the installation method involved. The key factor here is that nora rubber floorings can, besides the usual joint-sealing method, also be installed without joint-sealing, i.e. edge to edge, since in contrast to other types of flooring they do not contain any plasticizers, which over the course of time will migrate and lead to material shrinkage. nora® floorings possess absolute dimensional stability once they have been installed. As the hygiene expertise shows, the flooring can be disinfected with equal completeness whether joint-sealed or not.
The extensive tests conducted by the Austrian ofi institute have now additionally confirmed the bacteriostatic and fungistatic effect of the noraplan plus flooring. This means that the growth of bacteria and fungi is inhibited, and their further dissemination thus prevented. Thus the nora® system meets the stringent requirements of the health case sectors across the board, and is ideally suited for sensitive areas like hospitals or medical practices.
The comprehensive range of accessories provided for nora® floorings, moreover, offers hygienic solutions down to the very last detail. For example, it includes wall stringers with cushion-edge skirtings and prefabricated inner and outer angles.
