To transform heavy-booted stampers into soft-shoe shufflers, Freudenberg Bausysteme KG is now offering its tried-and-tested footfall-sound-absorbing noraplan® stone elastic and noraplan® mega elastic floorcoverings with matching accessories as well, as a complete-system package for stairwells. A footfall sound absorption value of 20 dB ensures that visitors to the third floor do not inevitably announce their presence to the first two floors as well.

Discreet gray, fresh blue, neutral beige in a wide variety of shades with the differently colored scatter designs of noraplan® stone elastic and noraplan® mega elastic rubber floorcoverings, put the color into stairwells with no fewer than 10 attractive variants, plus matching stair nosings in contrasting hues. The stair nosing here is a bit darker, so as to provide enhanced awareness among users, and making stair-climbing that extra bit safer. In addition to safety, the matching accessories in terms of stair angles, stringers and skirtings ensure that the stair is a design element of the stairwell as a whole, marrying function to visual aesthetics.

The stair coverings are supplied in installation-friendly strips 1.22 m wide and 43 cm long.
These dimensions, tailored to the requirements encountered in stairwells, enable tread and riser to be laid in one piece with minimized cutting work and cutting waste.

The new stair nosing demonstrates once again the importance which Freudenberg Bausysteme KG attaches to precisely this interaction of function and design: besides new colors, the stair nosing also features a push-in lip, which covers the joint between the flooring and the stair nosing, thus eliminating the gap in this sensitive area, which is easily soiled and damaged. Safety and appearance are lastingly preserved.

Fast gluing means long lifetimes. Stair nosing and covering are installed using nora® Stepfix - the adhesive film from the roller, ensuring fast, simple, odor-free, environment-friendly installation. Thus the stairwell remains negotiable even during the installation work. For renovation jobs, especially, this is a particularly important advantage.

When the craftspersons have left the stairwell, peace and quiet descends. The outstanding footfall sound absorption value of the new noraplan® elastic Whispering Stair system (20 dB) ensures that things stay that way - even if a herd of heavy-footed stampers is on the march. The metrological technicians of an independent research institute have confirmed this in tests conducted to the DIN ISO 140-8 standard.
