With noraplan® astro logic, the world-market leader for rubber floorcoverings has expanded its product range conclusively and logically. Logically because Freudenberg Bausysteme KG has made innovation one of its priorities, and astro logic is an innovation: Such a range of colours is unique for rubber floorcoverings. Logically because Freudenberg asked its customers and this is the range of colours they requested. And, logically, astro logic is unique as regards the harmonious gradations of colour.
The floorcovering has a subtle, neutral design that is marked by three equally divided and harmoniously matched tones and colour components. The range of colours of noraplan astro logic consists of six basic colours in grey, brown, beige, green, blue and red. Each of these basic colours is offered in three gradations of lightness; as a matter of fact, four gradations of lightness for the colour grey. Thus, a range of 19 colours with a unique colour scheme is available. Based on this colour scheme it is possible to harmoniously combine the floorcoverings in many different ways.
"astro logic is ideal for giving rooms a harmonious design," declares Robert Kaller enthusiastically. The Dortmund architectural artist, who considers art to be a necessary part of any meaningful modern architecture, has worked with nora® floorcoverings in many projects. When designing industrial buildings, kindergartens, school, hospitals and private homes, he views the floor as a part of the overall design concept. In Kaller's opinion, colour and harmony are inseparable and, thus, colour is an essential element of his interior designs. "The floor accounts for one third of the total area! Only if it fits in with the colour concept of the room will the entire room have an effect. With astro logic I have extensive design possibilities," he explains.
"Meaningful" interior design
Whoever is familiar with Kaller's style of design knows that rooms designed by him are characterised by the harmony of the colours. He catches moods and transforms them into colour. These moods can be shown even more accurately with the gradated colours of astro logic. "Just think of the effect a room designed in blue has on you - and then think of the effect of a golden-and-yellow room. Where would you want to work or relax?" asks Kaller in order to simplify his motivation and design concept. At a time when the senses are being used less and less in our daily work, rooms should offer compensation, according to the architectural artist. The growing popularity of Feng Shui shows that interior design is becoming a "sensual" matter for more and more people - and that it is not being affected by purely practical aspects so much anymore.
With its new range of colours, Freudenberg Bausysteme KG underscores the facts: Colour design, yes, but the floor must not dominate the room. The unicoloured pattern of astro logic ensures that the floor is not overly showy. Like all nora floorcoverings, astro logic is wear resistant, easy to clean, simple to install and environmentally friendly. It does not contain PVC, plasticizers and halogens. It is made of high-quality industrial and natural rubber, mineral filling materials from natural deposits and environmentally compatible colour pigments. Moreover, nora® floorcoverings do not contain any formaldehyde, cadmium, asbestos and CFCs.
Colours can show the way
In particular hallways have been neglected by creative interior design for a long time. For Kaller they are spaces to live in. The fact that people should feel comfortable in hallways is one aspect; another aspect is to let the hallways themselves act as guides. "A matched floor design can show the way. Colours can offer orientation, inlays can act as signposts. With astro logic this can be achieved unobtrusively, but effectively," maintains Kaller. "With the new range of colours, nora floorcoverings are starting to match the colour schemes of wall colours. This simplifies our work a lot," emphasizes the Dortmund artist.
