Weinheim, January 2001 - For stairwells and utility rooms in residential buildings - traditionally made of stone - there is a design and economic alternative with nora® rubber floorcoverings. Extremely durable, resistant to cigarette burns, footfall absorbing, anti-slip and - not to forget - easy and cost-effective to clean, these floorcoverings resist the footfall of numerous feet and shoe types every day. In areas which were formerly dominated by a cool grey, colour may now move in depending on the intention of the planners and architects - matching the character of the whole building.

Be it prams or wheelchairs, dragging removal boxes or winter salt - the rubber floorcoverings norament® and noraplan® are almost indestructible. Matching the corridor areas of stairwells, the assortment of Freudenberg Bausysteme KG includes corresponding stairtreads, stair profiles and nosings. Both the surface coverings and the stair accessories can be installed easily, economically and safe for health - by using solvent-free dispersion adhesives. norament® stairtreads and nora® skirtings may also be installed in combination with nora® Stepfix or nora® Profix. These special roller installation bands guarantee use without any smell, and the stairs can be stepped on immediately after installation.

nora® rubber floorcoverings are free of PVC, plasticizers (phthalates) and halogens (e.g. chlorine). The zero content of PVC ensures that no hydrogen chloride gas, no hydrochloric acid, no dioxins and furanes are released in the event of fire.

But nora® rubber floorcoverings are not only an ideal basis for stairwells and utility rooms. There are also many possibilities of application in the flats themselves as for example in corridors, kitchens and baths. Thanks to the large selection of designs, surface designs, and colours, it is always possible to create a pleasant living atmosphere - from the classic to the modern. nora® system floors are also suitable for installation in combination with other materials such as carpets or parquet, but are more immune than these.

The rubber floorcoverings of Freudenberg Bausysteme KG possess an extremely long life. Since they do not contain any plasticizers - as do PVC floorings - which permeate with time, they are also dimensionally stable. Thus, installation does not require expensive joint-sealing. Installation itself is easy and quick thanks to the sophisticated range of accessories. Furthermore, the extremely dense and closed surface guarantees economic cleaning without necessitating any coating. The result: low maintenance costs and in general an excellent price-benefit ratio.
