Innovations spearhead campaign at the world's market leader for rubber floorcoverings
Taking inspiration from nature

How can such a small locust jump so far? Why does the rainwater trickle so perfectly off the leaves of the lotus plant? What can human beings learn from nature? A question that industrial researchers are addressing with increasing frequency. How can we transfer the perfect visual appearance of natural raw material to our own products? This is a question that the world's market leader for rubber floorcoverings has been investigating. And answered. Freudenberg Bausysteme KG has now come up with four new nora rubber floorcoverings: norament cara, norament metro, noraplan fossil and noraplan grip.

Unique as nature itself. This is the claim made for norament cara - a claim it lives up to, tile by tile. In their design and their surface, the square-meter tiles resemble polished stone, and like their models (the limestone floorings), each and every one is unique. The two-colored, directionally orientated design in 12 light limestone hues reflects the light in gentle radiance. On large areas, especially, its classical beauty is particularly apparent.

No less original is the industrial character of the new norament metro flooring. With the visual solidity of concrete slabs, this modern classic brings the coarse-pored structure of an unadorned screed into the field of contemporary high-rise architecture. With norament metro, Freudenberg Bausysteme KG is meeting a wish expressed by numerous architects and building planners for a modern- style floorcovering with an industrial character. The eight plain colors all connote dyed concrete, and are ideal for combinations with wood and other natural materials.

In the new noraplan fossil floorings, the granules resemble fossil inclusions. 16 changing, discreet basic colors, ranging from classical gray and mellow blue to warm terracotta hues, are richly counterpointed by the harmonious, multi-colored granule inclusions. All colors have been specifically developed as new options for this flooring, and supplement the existing noraplan range with this natural-look component.

The focus is on functionality with the new noraplan grip flooring: its high anti-slip safety properties make it the first PVC-free safety flooring. This safety effect is supported by aluminum glitter, as a visual signal of functional efficacy.

noraplan grip clearly exemplifies a tenet applying to all the nora rubber floorcoverings: design and functionality form a successful symbiosis. The "natural new ones" excel in terms of an appealing, natural-effect design. As natural, resilient floorcoverings, moreover, they provide a multiplicity of functional characteristics. Their resilience, for example, in conjunction with their anti-slip properties, ensures a high level of walking comfort, and prevents settling cracks into the bargain. Good footfall sound absorption values contribute towards a pleasant indoor environment even in large rooms. The extremely dense surface created by the vulcanization process ensures high wear-resistance and a long useful lifetime.

The world's market leader has for many years demonstrated that its commitment to nature extends far beyond the design context: nora floorings are made from high-quality industrial and natural rubbers, minerals from natural deposits, and eco-compatible pigments. This reduces environmental impact, and ensures safety in the event of a fire, since no hydrogen-chloride gases, no hydrochloric acid, no dioxins or furans are released. Eco-compatible production processes and packing, and the fact that nora floorcoverings are installed using eco-friendly process materials, show how seriously the company takes its responsibilities for the natural environment.
