nora® floorcovering creates the perfect ambiance for an art exhibition

Glittering mysteriously, sparkling like jewels, coruscating with color - when you attempt to describe rosalie's "Storm of Roses" exhibition in Leipzig's Grassi Museum, it's adjectives like these you instinctively reach for. The visual fascination is crucially enhanced by the jet-black decoration in the rooms: black drapes for the ceilings and walls, and on the floor of the exhibition's third room Freudenberg Bausysteme' classical norament® 925 rubber floorcovering with its characteristic round pastille - in black, of course.

For her tripartite show, the artist (who has made a name for herself with solo exhibitions and taking part in the documenta, but primarily by designing scenery for ballets, plays and operas, e.g. for the Bayreuth Festival) has once again chosen a rather out-of-the-ordinary material: her hands transmute approximately 4.5 tons of plastic granules into a glittering dream garden.

In the first section, the "carpet garden", visitors are magically transported to a baroque pleasure garden. Over a walkway, they stroll through a meadow of flowers, shimmering, sparkling and spellbinding. The subsequent "plantation" with its color-drenched wall painting, is reminiscent of an altar picture, where the colors of the rainbow proclaim the joys of heaven.

Finally, visitors pass on to the "hanging gardens". Almost noiselessly, they enter the last room of the exhibition: the norament® rubber flooring muffles their steps, so as not to disturb the enchanted silence. The floor's resilience ensures that visitors to the gardens come close to feeling a meadow beneath their feet. All sensory perceptions dampened - only the eyes widen in wonder. Walls and the norament® flooring swallow up every bit of reflected light. The pictures suspended from the ceiling, with their stylized flowers sparkling like diamonds, captivate the visitor with utter enchantment.

Many of the blossoms, most of them tone-in-tone, grow on a plain background. But some of them are framed by a myriad of patterned dots, like perfect blossoms. They reflect the round pastille of the nora® flooring, ensuring that visitors to this dream world remain on a metaphorically firm footing.
