Skirtings, cushion-edged profiles, margin guards or stair angles are something like a necessary evil in floor design: They have to be but are not really loved. But wrongly! Because apart from their important functional tasks, they may become the icing on the cake of modern visual appearance.

The transition from floorcovering to the wall or interior design bases, stairs or also between various floorcoverings is perhaps the most sensitive area of the installation. Gaps, where dirt might collect and which might be difficult to clean, must be avoided. Walls and edges must be protected against impact, e.g. by roll containers. Cable conduits should remain hidden. The corresponding demands also vary heavily depending on the needs of the users: disinfectable skirtings with an extra-long base and hygienic corner angles are, e.g., required in a hospital, and users of office spaces require e.g. raised-access floor profiles with extended sealing lips. Even for extreme loads exerted by skate runners, special impact-resistant solutions are demanded.

Apart from functionality and design, the nora accessories meet the same high demands as do the floorcoverings themselves. They are made of high-quality industrial and natural rubber as well as selected minerals from natural resources and environmentally compatible colour pigments. nora floorcoverings and accessories do not contain any PVC, plasticizers (phthalates) or halogens (e.g. chlorine). In case of fire, neither dioxins nor furans nor hydrochloric gas are released which might lead to caustic burns of the respiratory tract. The floorcoverings are installed using environmentally compatible roll-type dry adhesives.
