Fraunhofer Institute tests nora® floorcoverings
noraplan® ideally suited for cleanrooms

The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Engineering and Automation (IPA), Stuttgart/Germany has tested the rubber floorcoverings noraplan® mega al and noraplan® duo el from Freudenberg Bausysteme KG in Weinheim to ascertain their suitability for cleanrooms, and awarded them the IPA Qualification Seal.

The tests examined both the emission behavior of airborne particles under castor stress and the floorings' cleaning behavior when using representative cleaning techniques. Both noraplan® rubber floorings are suitable for cleanrooms up to air purity classes of ISO Class 3 under DIN EN ISO 14644-1 or Air Purity Class 1 under VDI 2083.

This classification confirms the suitability of noraplan® rubber floorings for highly sensitive cleanroom production operations in all sectors, such as electronics, pharmaceuticals and medical technology.

The good results obtained in the tests are primarily attributable to the dense surface of the nora® floorcoverings. In cleanroom production operations, they additionally score in terms of their very low charge build-up propensity. Moreover, nora® floorings are resistant not only to acids and alkalis, but to oils and greases as well.
