The porosity of the screed depends on the type of screed involved, the screed components and its manufacturing method. Whether or not the surface is too porous or too rough can only be determined by means of a visual inspection. Levelling and/or smoothing compounds are used to seal porous and rough subfloors. The additional preparation necessary is a corresponding task of the contractor to be remunerated.
