FAQ - Installation |
How can the installation lead to damage to the floorcovering?
Formation of blisters
The following mistakes when installing elastic floorcoverings can lead to the formation of blisters:
- Installation on an excessively damp subfloor.
- Insufficient wetting of the adhesive on the underside of the floorcovering.
- Insufficient amount of adhesive.
- Incorrect spatula serrations.
- Use of inappropriate levelling compounds in terms of pressure load.
This can cause the levelling compound to be actually pulverized.
- Installation of inappropriate floorcoverings in areas contaminated with oil and grease deposits or chemicals. In these cases our special floorcoverings have to be used.
Tenting seams
This can be caused by the following situations:
- Insufficient acclimatization of the floorcovering before installation.
- Detachment of the flooring from the subfloor due to incorrect adhesives, incorrect spatula toothing, an insufficient wetting of the adhesive on the underside of the flooring, insufficient amount of adhesive, excessive moisture in the subfloor or the mechanical destruction of inappropriate levelling compounds.
