Recognition of the Environmental Compatibility

Are there independent institutions which confirm the environmental activities of nora systems or the environmental compatibility of nora® floorcoverings?

Registration-No.:
D-153-00016

Already in 1996, nora systems was one of the first manufacturers of resilient floorcoverings to subject itself to a voluntary auditing of the environmental management system according to the regulations (EEC) 761/2001 and to be registered in the EMAS register, number D-153-00016. The objective of this all-European regulation is to promote a process of continuous improvement of environmental protection by companies and to strengthen the industry's own responsibility to implement measures to protect the environment.

Blue Angel

noraplan® standard floorings are the first resilient floorcoverings to be awarded the Blue Angel under the new UZ 120 qualification guidelines. In the meantime the Blue Angel has also been awarded to noraplan® floorings with the new cleanguard® plus surface.

With more than a quarter of a century behind it, the Blue Angel is the world's oldest environmental symbol, and well-known far beyond the borders of Germany itself.

Certification to:
DIN EN ISO 14001

As world-wide market leader in rubber floorcoverings, nora systems, of course, wanted to belong to the first companies in this industry to be certified according to ISO 14001 (Environmental Emanagement System). An analysis of the Austrian Plastics Institute (ÖKI) confirmed the suitability for use in residential and working spaces of norament® 925 and noraplan® floorcoverings, which represent many other nora® floorcoverings.

Regular
quality inspection
by:

The floorcoverings manufactured by nora systems are subjected to very strict, regular quality tests by the renowned Institut Fresenius Chemische und Biologische Laboratorien AG, Taunussstein, Germany, within the scope of a comprehensive quality label contract. Because of this, nora® floorcoverings may bear the quality label "inspected quality".

The criteria relevant to health and environment are tested by the Austrian Research Institute (ofi) and confirmed by the "quality label for resilient floorcoverings".

In addition, many floorcoverings of the nora® floorcovering portfolio are certified by the US GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI). GEI is a world-wide acknowledged institute focusing on a "healthy indoor climate". The institute administers the GREENGUARD certification programme and publishes tested building materials and products with low emission values. All certified products are regularly subjected to emission measurements.

nora systems is member of the U.S. Green Building Council. This leading US building industry organisation promotes awareness of the environment, economy, and health in residential and working spaces.
