nora® profiles are made of rubber.
Contact adhesive may be used for fixing the nora® profiles (after prior consultation with the adhesive manufacturers concerned).
The subfloor
The subfloor must be dry. Porous, sanding or dusty subfloors are treated with commercially available primer. Uneven or excessively rough subfloors either at the wall or the floor are levelled and smoothed with commercially available levelling or smoothing compound.
Please follow the recommendations of the manufacturers of primers, levelling compounds and adhesives.
At the time of installation and of adhesive bonding, the subfloor temperature must be not less than 15 °C.
nora® profiles must have the same temperature as the subfloor. In winter, therefore, nora® profiles have to be stored for some days at installation temperature.
Installation and fixing
Contact adhesive
The adhesive is applied abundantly with a brush to the
subfloor and to the back of the profile. (It is not necessary
to sand the back of the profile.)
Airing time will depend on the temperature and humidity
and can be checked by means of the touch test. The adhesive
must still be sticky without being tacky.
The adhesive film will dry faster on rubber profiles than
on PVC profiles.
Immediately after being positioned, the profile is carefully
pressed down, and perhaps hammered into place (mallet).
