nora® profiles are made of rubber.
Contact or dispersion adhesive may be used for fixing the nora® profiles (after prior consultation with the adhesive manufacturers concerned).
The subfloor
The subfloor must be dry. Porous, sanding or dusty subfloors are treated with commercially available primer. Uneven or excessively rough subfloors either at the wall or the floor are levelled and smoothed with commercially available levelling or smoothing compound.
Please follow the recommendations of the manufacturers of primers, levelling compounds and adhesives.
At the time of installation and of adhesive bonding, the subfloor temperature must be not less than 15 °C.
Important: The vertical nosing section is not fixed.
Exception: stair nosings with riser section.
General remarks
As a string casing for right-angled steps, step angles for wall and banister sides are offered.

First the stair angles are cut to size using the profile cutter. To do this, they are placed on top of each other and fitted to the step, and then cut all together.
After that, they can be glued together indissolubly with fast-setting adhesive.

The rod profiles, all of which have the same cross-section, form the continuation at the open landing edge.
After that, cut the stair nosing to size, and fix it.
Then fit the step covering in place, and fix it.
All profiles are fixed with contact adhesive.
The stair nosing T 5044 with a "slide-in lip", i.e. a lip covering the separating line between the flooring and the stair nosing. The visible length of the tread section is 7.4 cm. (T 5019 A = 5 cm) This length is required to have this stair nosing glued with SIGA Stepform and/or nora Stepfix (see special installation recommendation).
At the time of installation, nora® profiles must have the same temperature as the subfloor. In winter, therefore, nora® profiles have to be stored for some days at installation temperature.
Installation and fixing
Contact adhesive
The adhesive is applied abundantly with a brush to the
subfloor and to the back of the profile. (It is not necessary
to sand the back of the profile.)
Airing time will depend on the temperature and humidity
and can be checked by means of the touch test. The adhesive
must still be sticky without being tacky.
The adhesive film will dry faster on rubber profiles than
on PVC profiles.
Immediately after being positioned, the profile is carefully
pressed down, and perhaps hammered into place (mallet).
