norament®- electrostatic conductive or dissipative |
As per DIN EN 12 199 "Elastic floorcoverings - Homogeneous
and heterogeneous profiled elastomer floorcoverings".
A recommended electrically conductive adhesive must be used for fixing norament®-electrostatic conductive or dissipative- with smooth, sanded back.
Electrical discharge
A copper tape (approx. 10.0 mm x 0.08 mm) is fixed under the full length of each row of tiles. These tapes are connected to each other by a transverse tape at the far end. Equipotential bonding is ensured at one point, for rooms larger than approx. 40 m² at two or several points (to be performed by a qualified electrician).
Installation and fixing
-
Experience has shown that it is best to cover the whole room or larger subdivided areas with loose tiles first, and then cut the border tiles, tiles for door openings, pipe apertures, etc. Make sure the arrows on the back are all pointing in the same direction.
Then the rows of tiles are turned over and fixed. This method has the advantage of avoiding crooked joints or shifting of joints, because the tiles positioned on the floor serve as a stop for the tiles still to be installed.
-
Suitable are conductive reaction adhesives based on polyurethane PUR or epoxy resin EP. The adhesive must be conform to EN 13415 (permanently
R ≤ 3 x 105 Ω).
On mastic asphalt, only polyurethane PUR may be used. Always wear protective gloves.
-
Mix the two adhesive components thoroughly until free of streaks. Good mixing is of particular importance at the walls and the bottom of the container.
-
The adhesive consumption depends on the nature of the subfloor concerned. You must use sufficient adhesive to ensure that the entire back of the floorcovering is completely covered with adhesive. This corresponds to an adhesive volume of 300 - 400 cm³. The quantity required depends on the specific gravity of the adhesives involved.
Example:
consumption: 350 cm³/m² = 0.35 l/m²
adhesive's specific gravity: 1400 g/l
0.35 l/m² x 1400 g/l = 490 g/m²
Apply this adhesive quantity to the entire surface of the subfloor with a serrated blade (e.g. TKB A2).
 TKB A 2
Replace worn serrated blades in good time.
If excessive amounts of adhesive are applied, the floorcovering will be "floating" in its adhesive bed, which may lead to adhesive oozing out at the tile joints and to permanent indentations (e.g. footprints) in the floorcovering or in the adhesive bed.
-
Install the tiles immediately after the adhesive has been applied, and press them down into position both longitudinally and transversely with a heavy iron roller (approx. 50 kg) on the entire surface. This procedure has to be repeated after a while, depending on the temperature involved.
Counterbend projecting edges and corners, and press them down again. Hollows or similar must be weighted down until the adhesive has properly bonded.
-
Any adhesive residues on the flooring surface must be removed immediately with nora® liquid wax.
-
During the installation and adhesive bonding period, norament® must be protected against temperature fluctuations, e.g. as a result of direct sunlight.
Wet or damp cleaning may only be carried out after the adhesive has bonded, i.e. after approx. 48 hours.
Special hints
-
With regard to the requirement for minimum insulation for
the protection of persons as per VDE 0100, Part 410, or
harmonization document HD 384.4.41 S2, it is to be en-sured
that the insulation of floorcoverings cannot be im-paired
by humidity. Furthermore, joint-sealing with nora®
hot welding rod in the joint areas is necessary to meet the
minimum insulation requirements.
-
The flooring seams can be sealed with nora® joint sealing compound.
-
Castor-wheeled office chairs must be equipped with castors with soft rolling tracks. If the floorcovering will be subjected to castor-wheeled traffic, the screed and the process materials used (e.g. levelling compound, adhesive) must be suitable for castor-wheeled traffic.
-
If installed on screeds with underfloor heating, please follow the instructions given under Important notes / General remarks - 10. screed with underfloor heating.
In addition, only adhesives with the appropriate temperature-resistant properties may be used.
-
norament® flooring, fixed, does not replace sealings as per
DIN 18 195 building sealings.
- When installing partial surfaces, it has to be ensured that
no production residues get on the surfaces to be installed
or the back of the covering.
