Installation instructions for norament® 992 and norament® 992 grano for ice rinks "Rubber-to-metal section"

Our experience gathered over many years shows that flooring surfaces are hardly worn off by skate blades when exposed to normal stresses.

Before entering the ice rink, all skaters must use the "entrance/exit", where floor coverings are exposed to more stringent stresses than in other areas. Wear is expected in these areas over a period of time.

To date, these damaged floor coverings have had to be removed and replaced with problems re-adhering as the sub-floor is always wet. This was always a particularly time-consuming procedure which failed to provide optimum results. We are now offering a perfect solution for these areas, thanks to our "rubber-to-metal section". These are fixed to the sub-floor by means of countersunk screws. The "sections" can be replaced easily according to the requirements involved. To do so, simply remove the screws and replace the worn "rubber-to-metal section" with a new one, or replace just the rubber floor covering and re-fix.

Assembly:

norament® tiles during the initial installation must be laid loosely prior to fixing, with two / four "rubber-to-metal sections" in all of the "entrance/exit". The layout of the "rubber-to-metal sections" should be planed as far as possible to use full "sections" and avoid the use of small cuts of tiles.

"Rubber-to-metal sections" are provided with eight fixing points (bores). It is sufficient, however, if they are fixed to even sub-floors at four corners only.

In order to prevent any accumulation of water below the elements, a thick bead of silicon sealant should be applied to the sub-floor underneath the "section" as per the diagram.

On uneven sub-floors, some sealing compound may be applied to the centre of the "section", too.

The sealing compound will then be distributed over the surface when installing and screwing down the "section", thus causing it to stick firmly to the sub-floor. "Rubber-to-metal sections" are screwed down by means of countersunk screws; diameter 4.5 mm.

Plastic raw plugs must be used in the sub-floor. The adjacent floorings can be fixed as soon as the elements are mounted. Attention should be paid to the fact that adjacent tiles should not be laid too tightly along the rubber-to-metal sections, as this may otherwise make the replacement of the mounting plates more difficult.

"Rubber-to-metal sections" are exclusively suited for the intended use specified by us.
