The nora® stair margin has a bevelled edge on 3 sides and a
length of 60 cm. By cutting to the desired length from the stair
margin, the margin may be installed for the tread as well as for
the riser.
The stair nosings must be sharp-edged, worn nosings must be
repaired using a repair angle (type S) and a suitable, stable
filler over the entire length of the nosing.
The bevelled lateral nosing always shows in the direction of the
stair centre. Installation is performed from top to bottom, as
described in the following.
-
Measure the height of the first riser part, cut nora® stair margin
with a circular cross-cut saw or a mitre-box saw.
-
Measure depths of tread plus thickness of the riser margin (12 mm).
-
Butt-joint the two cut parts of the margin and glue
carefully with loctite.
-
Glue margin onto stairs using nora® Profix - dry adhesive
tape or neoprene glue.
Alternatively, the profiles may also be cut to mitre with a circular cross-saw or a mitre-box saw and then glued with loctite. At the back nosing between tread and riser part, the margins
are butt-jointed.
For undercut stairs, the tread- and riser part of the margin
 is
to be adapted to the relevant stair angle and cut to mitre.
Subsequent to the installation of the margin on both sides, the stairtreads or nosing profiles may be installed.
Please note! When installing the stair margin on landings and in corridors,
the bevelled edges at the front side are to be cut using a circular
cross-cut saw or a mitre-box saw.
