norament® accentuation stripes |
While installing norament with accentuation stripes it is impossible to lay out the whole room before fixing (as we usually recommend). Because of this make sure, that the tiles and the stripes have been acclimatised properly to the subfloor temperature; e.g. store the material at least 24 hours in the room.
Installing and fixing
- Start installation in the middle of the room. The starting point can be found by the help of a guiding line (chalk line or iron ruler).
- The fixing must be done with a suitable dispersion adhesive and a recommended serrated blade. Replace worn blades. In areas with heavy sunshine (southside windows down to the floor) or with heavy traffic (fork lift trucks) 2-C-PUR or Epoxy adhesive should be used.
- The first row of tiles must be installed along the guiding line. The accentation stripes for the 503 x 503 mm tiles are delivered in two lengths: 503 mm and 1006 mm. At two opposite tile-sides the 503 mm stripes are fixed accurately. At the other sides the 1006 mm stripes are installed, starting staggered in the middle of the tile. If 1006 mm tiles are delivered only 1006 mm stripes are delivered, too. The installation is done in the same way as the 503 mm tiles.
Immediately after installation of the tiles use the heavy iron roller. Roll the complete installed area longitudinal and transversal. Repeat this after some time, depending on the temperature and the absorbency of the subfloor.
- While cutting the border tiles, tiles for door openings, pipe apertures, etc. make sure that the adhesive is not over-drying. Counter bend and press down e.g. projecting edges. Weigh down hollow parts until the adhesive has bonded.
- Remove adhesive from the tile surface immediately with our liquid wax.
- While installation and at least for 48 hours after installation protect the rubber tiles from extreme change of temperature (e.g. heavy sunshine.
